I’m going to let you in on a little secret. Cook’s Illustrated. It’s the only cookbook you will ever need, I promise. Well, that’s not entirely true. It won’t tell you how to make whoopie pies, and it bizarrely avoids any mention of rhubarb. But for everything else, it absolutely rocks. You can find anything in this book. You will never buy another salad dressing again. (Holli and I both recommend the avocado ranch and the mustard vinaigrette I made tonight was delicious) There are salads and dips. And for someone who’s never been a big fan of vegetables, this book has some great ways to cook veggies that make them delicious so that I actually WANT to eat them, instead of feeling that I HAVE to eat them. There are plenty of pastas and sauces and curries, and marinades for meats. And today, I made a Chicago-style, deep-dish pizza that was pretty life changing. I made the dough and sauce from scratch and the result was a 100% delicious sausage, cheese, and tomato sauce pie from heaven.
